CrossVcl is a suite of tools for Delphi developers who can create VCL applications for macOS and Linux with Embarcadero Delphi. CrossVcl is a VCL simulator? CrossVcl is not a simulator, it is a WinAPI implementation for another platform. Cross Vcl only covers the UI interface of WinAPI (except DirectX) required by VCL. For non-UI software, you should use Cross-Platform Protocol from RTL and other frames. All of the new Embarcadero Delphi compilers are based on LLVM technology and the next generation compiler. The nextgen compiler supports AnsiString, ShortString, embedded assembler code and use of ARC model for all objects.
- Win API bridge: Provides a low-level Windows API for macOS and Linux
- Native Voice Control: Provides native macOS equivalents for most standard controls such as TEdit, TMemo, TComboBox
- Native graphics: TCanvas and TBitmap controls work on macOS and Linux like Windows.
- Custom controls: Many custom controls work unchanged in macOS and Linux like Windows.
CrossVcl requires Embarcadero Delphi 10.2 with macOS development add-on. Enterprise version requires for Linux development
